Goodbye SLAM! Basketball

Yesterday was my last Basketball session with the boys and the ladies. So it was time to say goodbye to all my friends I made there. I had a great time with the guys. My coach Douaine Anderson is such a fantastic coach who puts so much effort into all this. He came from the USA, where he was a professional player, to Wolverhampton with the aim to coach younger people and give them all (doesn’t matter which age, origin or level they’re playing) an opportunity to play basketball, to compete against others and to have fun!
It’s just very impressive that this man gave up so much in America to come to this city for changing something and making a difference for boys and girls coming from a more or less poorer background. And I could feel it, he really made a difference to them in a sense of being able to be free, having fun and feeling accepted. All in all it was a great experience to play and compete with other guys, to be involved and accepted in the team. I won’t forget this!
